Get Ready Shelby at the Memphis Zoo
It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend to join Ready Shelby and some of our favorite partners at our fourth Ready Shelby Day at the Zoo, taking place this Saturday, Oct. 19. All activities are free with your Zoo admission or membership. It’s a great way to learn and get the whole family involved with preparedness and safety–and have fun at the same time.
There will be videos, activities, free information–including our brand new 2014 Ready Shelby calendar–and special presentations to help you and your loved ones get ready.
- Learn about fire safety from the Learning about Fire Safety (LAFS) Clown Troupe during their two shows at noon and 2 p.m. on the Plaza Stage.
- See Community Emergency Response Teams in action at two training demonstrations and watch how the Shelby County Fire Department does vehicular rescues, 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. at Preparedness Row.
- The Grizz Girls will be on hand as they pass out free Ready Shelby calendars. See the Grizz Girls at Teton Trek from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- See how search dogs do their job when Search Dogs South does rescue demonstrations at Teton Trek, 12:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
