I'm Ready Sunday
At Ready Shelby, we preach emergency preparedness. And we recognize the vital role local congregations can play in this effort. That's why we are challenging faith-based organizations to get their congregations and neighbors emergency prepared.
How? It's easier than you think. Between now and September, Ready Shelby is awarding valuable prizes to those faith-based organizations in Shelby County that get the most members and congregants prepared by completing our five simple steps. Prizes include an automated external defibrillator, generator, fire extinguishers and even cash. Plus, we want your input, so email us your thoughts on prizes that you'd like to work toward (emergency-related only, please).
Five simple steps:
- Create a family communication plan … where to meet, who to call, who’s picking up the kids, etc.
- Determine your safe place at home, at work, at church, etc.
- Pack an emergency kit and first aid kit.
- Learn compression-only CPR.
- Participate in free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training.
And remember, the more members of your congregation who follow our five simple steps to get prepared, the better— and the better your organization's chance to win.
So get involved and get ready. It's easy. Simply fill out form below and submit. Ready Shelby will get back in touch with you to help get you started and let you know the rules to winning prizes. You can also reach us at faith@readyshelby.org and 901/259-3542. And check back in as we will be posting prizes and guidelines for winning.
